DCD at the request of Kildare Civil Defence sent an AFS crew to Sallins, Co Kildare to assist residents there who had suffered heavy flooding and were stranded inside their homes. More DCD crews arrived to assist and the overall operation lasted overnight while crews attempted to bring the floodwaters down to a more manageable level and also assist residents in and out of their homes
