DCD AFS crews assist DFB at Priory Hall, following Court Order

On the afternoon of Friday 14/10/11 Dublin Civil Defence received a request for assistance from Dublin Fire Brigade. DFB were instructed by a Court Order to provide 24 hour cover at Priory Hall apartment block, due to serious fire safety issues at the development.
Central AFS that have attended all Sevesco exercises for the past 2 years and provided refreshments for the crews, worked over the weekend to provide refreshments at night time for the DFB crews. On Saturday night, due to rain a small tented cover was erected as the crews were just sitting in a Fire Appliance. This will be left in place until the cover is withdrawn.
From a DCD viewpoint this exercise provided good training for this AFS crew to supply support to Dublin Fire Brigade at a prolonged incident.
