DCD Rescue boat crew while training in Dunlaoghaire Harbor yesterday noticed a Topper Sailing boat in difficulty at the Harbor mouth. They rescued a person out of the water, dropped the sails on the boat and landed all safe and well back at the yacht club.

DCD had a busy day today providing Fire,Medical and Rescue cover at the Aviva Stadium and 2 Rescue boats on the South Wall for the Arthur Dunne Sea Swim.

DCD provided Medical, Welfare and Rescue cover for the Dublin Mountain Challenge in aid of Barretstown. The challenge was a 42k and 24k walk across the Dublin Mountains. A hot meal was provided by our welfare team at the top of Three Rock Mountain for 800 people. In total 75 DCD Volunteers were involved and 22 vehicles.

DCD provided water for the Steam Train for RPSI in Gort yesterday. The DCD team from Nutgrove were tasked to bring the Water Tanker to Gort for the Steam Train.
The 14 day Cycle against Suicide finished today in Dublin Castle. Civil Defence from all Counties provided Medical Cover for the duration of the event.

The annual Cycle against Suicide started from Swords Castle today and will travel around Ireland over the next two weeks. Civil Defence from all the Counties that the event passes through will provide Medical and Ambulance cover. DCD will provide Medical cover for the next three days and the last day from Carlow to Dublin.
DCD provided Medical and Vehicle protection in the Customs House, Dublin Castle and Smithfield. We were assisted with CIvil Defence units from Laois, Westmeath, Meath and Louth. In total 87 Volunteers and 27 Vehicles assisted in the operational cover. Great to work with other Counties.
