St Johns Ambulance held a Rememberance Service for Corps Superintendent Holden Studart whom was shot dead while attending the injured during the Easter Rising.

This has been an important weekend for the on-going development of the national Civil Defence K9 resource. Three of our K9 search teams have been undergoing analysis of their training and operational capabilities by Hugh Watson, a dog training expert from the UK. Garda dog unit instructors also attended part of the programme to see the capabilities of Civil Defence in this key area of search assistance. This is part of the development of the Civil Defence search dog policy and the feedback has been very positive.
A Mass Casualty Exercise in conjunction with Irish Rail took place today. The Irish Red Cross and the Civil Defence we're involved in the train crash in the tunnel under the phoenex park.
Dublin Civil Defence will conduct a Major Exercise in conjunction with the Red Cross and Irish Rail next Sunday Morning. Over 200 Volunteers will be involved from both Organisations in a simulated train crash inside a tunnel.

DCD provided Medical Cover right across the City today. We had 84 Volunteers, 11 Ambulances, 8 support vehicles and 1 rescue boat crew on duty. Busy day for our Volunteers and 12 Transports to hospital.
