DCD Rescue North erect Tents for the Achill Half Marathon last night. A very worthy charity that we assist with tentage every year.

DCD Central were called to action to rescue a trapped bird caught in a chimney cowel on the Esplanade roof today, after a number of members of the public brought the birds plight to our attention.
64 DCD Volunteers were involved in a search tonight for a missing person from Finglas. Great turnout from DCD members with only one hours notice. The K-9 unit was also involved.

Civil Defence were involved in a search for a missing person in the Ballinastoe and Lugglaw area today. The HRD dogs from Laois and Dublin were involved working closely with our Drones and Search Teams. A total of 40 Volunteers were involved today.
It is with great sadness to report that Brian McGavin Central AFS lost his long fight last night and died in Blanchardstown hospital. May he rest in peace.
DCD provided Rescue,Medical and Welfare for the Dublin Mountain Challange in aid of Barretstown. A hot meal on top of Three Rock was provided by our Welfare Team for 700 people. 85 Volunteers and 15 vehicles were involved in the operation across the Dublin Mountains. #barretstown
DCD were called to a person who had fallen into the River Liffey this Morning. ACDO Hanna donned his dry suit and entered the water while other DCD Volunteers assisted with throw lines. ACDO Hanna stabilized the casualty who had a serious head injury until the DFB arrived.
The DFB used the HiAb crane on D35 with a basket stretcher and DFB SRT attached to effect the rescue of the casualty and Aidan was brought back to the access steps by our rescue boat. All in all it was an excellent example of inter-agency cooperation.
Well done to all DCD Volunteers in the Aviva tonight. Rescue from level 5 with the basket stretcher at the end of the night and EMT's busy on Medical.

DCD recieved two new inflatable Flood Rescue Boats. The boats were designed and built by SAFEQUIP for Civil Defence to assist in their flood operations. The boats have four separate chambers for safety and training will commence with our R3 Flood Responders over the next few weeks.
The Howth Unit of the Irish Coast Guard name their new boat the Sean A.Dunne in memory of their colleague who sadly passed away 2yrs ago.
A wonderful ceremony was held today attended by family, colleagues, Gardai and Civil Defence.
